Connecting USB microscope with VAROS 107 and VAROS 109

… for a visually test of the physical quality in an optical fiber connection. With the new device software Vxx.03 (VAROS 107) and Vxx.06 (VAROS 109) any of these devices can be connected via its USB port to an appropriate microscope for detection of impurities.

Typical contaminants in fiber connectors are dust particles, residues of hand lotion, skin and alcohol. For documentation purposes, it is possible to get a screenshot of the current microscope image. Supported will be, inter alia, a USB microscope from Lightel Technologies, Model DI-1000.
