The innovative portable TV analyzer: CATV measuring receiver VAROS 107.
The new way: Interactive networks are the networks of the future. The VAROS 107 establishes contact with the headend of the network via an integrated DOCSIS 3.0 modem and, thanks to an optional DOCSIS 3.1 modem, can also play a leading role in future tasks.
In addition, DVB-T and -T2 channels can also be measured. Even old and large-scale cable networks are no problem for this device and you as a technician who works with it.
Evaluate all images: The device includes a standard HEVC decoder for displaying ultra-high-resolution image content in CATV networks. Also German DVB-T2 transmitter content can be viewed via HEFC. Via a DVI interface, the image and sound data can be transmitted to suitable terminals.
The documentation of errors in distribution networks is no longer a big challenge with the VAROS 107: Acceptance reports, long-term measurements or screenshots can be easily created. In conjunction with the HE 310 (UMS) head-end device, DOCSIS upstreams can be wobbled, measured and documented.

HEVC and UHD.
The new ultra-high-definition TV images can be displayed with the VAROS 107. This applies to UHD services in CATV networks and DVB-T2.
The HEVC/UHD decoder displays the images on the screen of the meter and in full resolution via the DVI socket to the customer’s TV.

DOCSIS Analyser 3.0.
With the DOCSIS Analyzer 3.0 EURO and US-DOCSIS signals can be evaluated. Channel bonding is graphically displayed. The measurement of the downstream quality as well as the upstream transmission level is possible.

Upstream generator.
In the VAROS 107 can be used as a signal source in the back channel frequency range of 5–65 MHz. Up to 4 carriers can be sent simultaneously (CW or PRBS). Level, modulation and symbol rate are adjustable.

Operate concept.
The operating concept of the TV analyzer VAROS 107 is very similar to those of the other KWS measurement receivers. It is–as can be expected–easy and fast to learn. Here is a spectrum display with analogue and digital transponders.
Everything clear.
The backlit keyboard makes working in lowlight conditions easier and clearer.

Clear interfaces.
CATV measuring receiver VAROS 107 is equipped with the following interfaces, which are all located in the upper part of the device:
USB (measurement data and firmware updates), Common Interface (CAM and smartcard) DVI out, SC/APC input and stable 75Ω IEC measurement input.
Basic configuration: EMI measurement.
Leakage in distribution networks can be located with the EMI measuring option. It is possible to verify that the distribution networks comply with the specified limits in accordance with the SchuTSEV regulation.

DVB-T2 measurement module.
DVB-T2 differs severely from the DVB-T standard. With the new DVB-T2 it is possible to transmit HDTV services. The echo measurement is an important evaluation of the signal reserve.
CATV test receiver/TV analyzer with optical receiver: VAROS 107 Optic.
Optics in the surface, copper in the building–only to cope with a modern device that works in addition to the classic RF network with optical transmission–the optics makes the difference. For HF measurements and image processing, the Standard and Optical versions are identical. The Optical series also has an optical receiver and the CATV frequency range is extended to 1.214 MHz.
Currently, many large-scale CATV networks are switched to optical transmission. The advantage is a low signal attenuation and the potential freedom of the track. Despite different transmission methods in copper or otic networks, the measurements remain the same. In the measuring receiver, the demodulated optical signal is fed into the HF measuring branch. Therefore, all standard measurements can be performed.
Even in so-called »stand-alone headends«, which supply larger buildings and often also offer analogue TV in their networks, the VAROS 107 Optic, one of the few devices on the market, delivers absolutely reliable measurement results.
Even with the required system documentation, this device impresses with utmost precision, regardless of whether it is an optical distribution or a classic HF network.
Optical receiver (SC/APC).
The VAROS 107 Optic is equipped as standard with an optical receiver. The following measurements/functions are possible:
Optical signals can also be documented.
